Enjoy the fishing beauty

Reputed for its wild nature and its fishy ponds, the Dombes is a very much appreciated fishing territory.

A ” no kill ” fishing

Here at Domaine de la Dombes, we believe in respecting the environment. That’s why we fish NO KILL. For those unfamiliar with fishing jargon, this is the obligation to throw fish back into the water. Find out more about this practice.

What do we fish at the Domaine?

The Domaine’s 9-hectare pond is one of the deepest in the Dombes region. What’s more, the fish species are numerous!

You will be able to catch:

  • carp
  • pike-perch
  • pike
  • black bass
  • sturgeon
  • roach
  • perch

You will maybe encounter a catfish, considered as damaging, this specie will exceptionnally not be thrown back in the water.

Practical information

Go to reception, where you will be asked to read and sign the rules and regulations and pick up your fishing permit.

Your vehicle must be parked in the parking lot (no access by car on the pond dike), and there are benches available to help you find the various fishing spots.

The pond is not accessible by car, but is a 10-minute walk away.

If you have a lot of equipment, please bring your own cart.
